However, if you do not use the language once you graduate, you may find that most of the knowledge is forgotten, and, should you wish to speak the language again, you have to start almost from the beginning again, and re-learn it.

It is easier for a child to learn a new language, but adults can do it if they are willing to put some effort into it. Spanish is a beautiful language once you get used to it, and it is spoken all over the world. One thing is for sure, it is well worth the extra effort and well worth learning. You will discover that speaking a second language is a valuable asset to your CV should you ever look for a new job.

Examples of this would include methods such as using DVDs or video. Actually, these both provide the same type of learning experience as if you were in a classroom. All this without having to leave the comfort of your home. You can take it a step further and just pop a CD or cassette in your car stereo which can even help in learning Spanish even while you are on the road.
There are lots of websites that offer free language tips, and you can download language lessons and listen to them on your computer or your MP3 player. There are also more in-depth lessons available for a fee, and language learning programs that use flash cards, images, and videos to help you learn Spanish.
If you prefer assisted learning, you could join a language class at a college, or see if there are any tutors offering private lessons in the area. In this way you get a chance to practice your skills on a real person, and what is more important is that get feedback along the way.
